The 2017 Kia Cadenza Premium Sedan 4D represents the second generation of Kia’s full-size front-wheel-drive flagship sedan. Redesigned for the 2017 model year with a stiffer chassis (over 51% advanced high-strength steel), lower weight, and enhanced acoustic isolation, the Cadenza Premium bridges the gap between mainstream full-size sedans and entry-level luxury cruisers.
Under the sculpted hood lies Kia’s updated naturally aspirated 3.3-liter Lambda II DOHC 24-valve V6 enginefeaturing Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) and Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing (D-CVVT). Retuned for enhanced low-end torque and efficiency, this mechanical core generates 290 horsepower at 6,400 RPM and 253 lb-ft of torque at 5,200 RPM. Power is routed to the front wheels (FWD) through Kia’s in-house developed 8-speed Sportmatic® automatic transmission with Smart Shift Drive Mode Select (Comfort, Eco, Sport, and Smart modes). Supported by an independent MacPherson strut front suspension, multi-link rear suspension with Amplitude Selective Damping (ASD) shock absorbers, motor-driven electric power steering (MDPS), and 4-wheel disc brakes with ABS, the 3,633-lb Cadenza Premium accelerates from 0 to 60 MPH in 6.7 seconds.
On the exterior, the 2017 Cadenza Premium is distinguished by its concave 'Diamond Butterfly' front grille, quad LED fog lights, halogen projector headlights with Z-shaped LED daytime running light signatures, LED taillights, body-colored power heated side mirrors with integrated LED turn signals, chrome exterior window surrounds, dual integrated trapezoidal chrome exhaust tips, and solar glass. The sedan maintains an executive profile rolling on standard 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in P245/45R18 all-season tires.

Practicality and spatial allocation are primary highlights of its long 112.4-inch wheelbase platform, providing an expansive 43.7 inches of front legroom and 37.2 inches of rear legroom. Opening the trunk lid reveals 16.0 cubic feet of cargo trunk space, supplemented by a rear-seat center armrest pass-through for transporting long items.
Backed by an 18.5-gallon fuel tank, the 3.3L V6 FWD model achieves an EPA-estimated 20 MPG city and 28 MPG highway (23 MPG combined).
